BUTTERFLY WITH CROCHET BODY AND SPRING WINGS:
With Turquoise yarn and F hook ch-3, sl st to form a ring.
RND 1: Ch-1, work 12 hdc in ring, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (12 sts)
RND 2-3: (2 hdc next st, hdc next st) around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (18 sts)(27 sts)
RND 4-9: Hdc ea st around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.
RND 10-11: (Hdc dec next st, hdc next st) around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (18 sts)(12 sts)
RND 12-13: Hdc ea st around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.
RND 14: 2 hdc ea st around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (24 sts)
RND 15-25: Hdc ea st around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn.
RND 26: (Hdc dec next 2 sts, hdc next 4 sts) around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (20 sts)
RND 27: (Hdc dec next 2 sts, hdc next 3 sts) around, sl st top beg hdc, ch-1, turn. (16 sts)

Stuff body.
RND 29: (Hdc dec next 2 sts) around, sl st top beg hdc, fasten off. (6 sts)
Cut one of the heart springs in half. You now have 2 full springs and 2 half springs. These will form the butterfly’s wings. Lp one end or ea spring around the opposite end so that it forms a half circle. Sew the large springs on the bottom of ea side and the smaller spring on top of these. Glue the wiggle eyes and button to its face and make a mouth with the fabric paint.
